Wilbur "Bill" Leerssen, age 82 of Remer, Minnesota, entered into rest on Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth with his family by his side. Bill was born in 1933 to Myron and Ruth Leerssen in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Edina Morningside High School in 1951. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. On July 23, 1968, Bill was united in marriage to Patricia Conway. He loved going to garage sales, auctions, and flea markets, always looking for that "great deal". Bill loved the "Wheel of Fortune", playing poker, cribbage, and playing games on his IPad. In his younger years, he loved to hunt and fish.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Larry; infant daughter, Lu Ann; Chay Baccam; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia "Patty"; 3 sons, Myron (Tami) Leerssen of Pine River, MN, Robert Leerssen of Remer, MN, and Scott (Juli) Leerssen of St. Louis Park, MN; a daughter, Jennifer Leerssen of Mora, MN; Grandchildren, Brandon, Sean, Molly, Heather, and Brittany; a very special granddaughter, Lizzy Baccam; his grandchildren of Worthington, MN; 2 great grandsons, Alex and Tony; sister-in-law Beverly Hiller; brother-in-law Jim (Carole) Conway; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; his 2 dogs, Chevy and Thor; and a cat, Freeway.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM Memorial Service on Saturday, October 17th 2015 at the Northland Alliance Church in Remer, Minnesota. Pastor Jason Schafbuch will officiate.
