What is happening at the family center
To the Editor:
This past year Barbara Anderson, Chairperson for the Board of Directors, has been overseeing the day to day operations. As of January 1st, 2104, Stacey McKinney was appointed interim Executive Director, while the board looks to the future and a new executive director. McKinney is also the Director of the Home Visiting Program.
Pine Cone-Press Citizen will be publishing articles on the different programs the Family Center offers. The main programs we offer are Preschool, Home Visiting, Adult Basic Education, and Family Support. There are also MNSure navigators on staff. If you are interested in becoming involved in the Family Center please contact Linda or Stacey at 566-3636.
Another exciting thing that happened as of January 1, 2014, is the Longville Food Shelf has become its own entity. Longville Food Shelf Inc and its program, Tossed and Found, is becoming a 501(c)3 and no longer be part of the family center. The Family Center and the Longville Food Shelf will continue to work together. The board and the staff of the Family Center congratulate the board and staff of Longville Food Shelf Inc. and wish them well.
The mission of the Family Center is: "To provide education, mentoring and support services that builds strong individuals and families in the Northland Community School district" We are here to service everyone who lives in the Northland School District.[[In-content Ad]]
