Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Monticello, with interment at the Sacred Heart Cemetery with Military Honors.

Surviving is his wife, Susan; three children, Steven (Rebecca), of Meadowview, Iowa, Virginia, Nancy (Pat) Nagel of West Branch, Iowa and David (Maureen) of Monticello; 12 grandchildren, Brigette Mulvehill, Molly, Douglas, Hannah Wolf, Kimberly Loftis, Matthew, Kylie, Dan Nagel, Alex, Anastasia, Heidi, Isaac Wolf, six great-grandchildren and a sister, Helen Hemmer, Monticello; one brother-in-law Bill Friese; three sister-in-laws Mary, Harriet and Mary Jane Wolf and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, two sisters, Grace Terlisner, Yvonne Gordon and sixbrothers, James, Pete, Tom, Jake, Donald and John, and his sister-in-law Linda Friese.
Wayne William Wolf was born June 6, 1933 at Monticello. He was the son of John L. and Mary Magdalena Wilhelm, Wolf. He graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in 1951. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps serving in the Korean War. Following his return from service he was employed at Freese Motors and McAleer Oil.
Wayne Wolf and Susan Staner were married on August 22, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Wayne and Sue operated Staner Heating and Plumbing until retiring in 1995. In 2003 the couple moved to their cabin in Backus, Minnesota to enjoy their retirement together.[[In-content Ad]]
