The War-Eagle Cross-Country teams participated in the Mabel Lake Triangular meet at Mabel Lake this past Thursday, facing tough competition from Pine River/Backus and Sebeka/Menahga.

Makendra Anderson again led the way for the War-Eagle team in the varsity girls' race with a first place finish. Anderson left the competition behind with a time of 17:50 over the 4K course.

In the Varsity boy's 5K competition, Adam Machen was the War-Eagles top finisher with a time of 20:27. Securing a tenth place finish was junior Jake Spartz with a personal best time of 21:46. Kristen Miller and Jordan Perkins in 13th and 14th place respectively were also medal winners in their first outing as varsity runners.

The junior high girls' race was dominated by War-Eagle athletes with seven finishers in the top ten. Kacey Trout was the first place finisher in 10:16 over the one and a half mile course. Kristina Harder was close behind in second with a time of 10:25 and Hannah Myers earned a tenth place finish with a personal best time of 12:10.

Liam Martin blew the competition away in the junior high boys' race running a 9:12 for first place on the mile and a half course. A notable performance was given by Dylan Thompson with a ninth place finish and personal best time of 10:51.
