The Deer River/Northland (DRN) War-Eagles hosted five northern Minnesota schools on Thursday, April 12. The girls racked up 51 points to finish in fourth position for the day. Greenway/Nashwauk/Keewatin (GNK) led all schools with 176 points followed by Pequot Lakes with 168 and Cromwell with 76.

Individually for the girls, Teja Amy finished seventh in the 100m dash with a time of 15.10. Kacey Trout finished eighth in the 1600m run in 6:26.50.Sarah Dodd finished in 1:13.60 in the 400m dash to take eighth position. Kristina Harder took top honors in the 300m hurdles in 55.20. Makendra Anderson finished second in the 800m run with 2:49.30 and Alison Juntunen followed in eighth with 2:53.90. High jumper Sophia Rajala won with 4-09.00 followed by Kayla Rood and Amy tied for eighth at 4-0. Donna Velishek took first place with a 8-00.00 pole vault. Danielle Maki won discus with 90-04 and also finished fifth in shot put with 30-05.00 .

lIndividually on the boys side, Eric Ortloff crossed the line fifth in 100m dash in 12.90. Dylan Thompson crossed tenth in the 1600m with a time of 6:49.80. DRN took fourth place in the 4x100m relay. In the 300m hurdles, Kristin Miller finished sixth in 51.20, followed closely by teammate Jordan Perkins in 53.10. Jake Spartz took third place honors in the 800m run. 3200m run placed Adam Machen sixth with 12:10.00. Kevin Drotts finished seventh in high jump with 5-00, first in pole vault with 13-06, and fifth in long jump with 18-00.00. In shop put Devin Bowstring took seventh with a 34.11 foot toss.

The boys finished the meet with 30 points. Pequot Lakes took top honors with 152 points followed by Northome/Kelliher/Blackduck in second with 103 and Cromwell in third with 97.[[In-content Ad]]
