Wanted...Library volunteers
To the Editor,
As for the money part, the Longville Friends of the Library, headed by Dennis Ploeger, President, has revised its membership policy to annual dues of $10, and no longer utilizes the previous "For Life" membership. "The current economic stress of today has required us to reconsider the membership policy," stated Mr. Ploeger. "Monies raised by the Friends' various projects barely cover the needs we try to assist the library with, requiring us to find additional means of gaining funds," he added.
Potential members may pick up a membership form and pay the $10 dues at the library using the forms provided. Current members may also renew their memberships there as well. The Friends are asking that current members refresh their notification information, including their email addresses to aid in saving postage for meetings and project notices. The Friends aid the library in the purchase of items necessary to maintain the good service and quality programs offered.
Friends volunteers are always needed. Sign up sheets for ongoing Friends of the Library events are always available at the check out desk at the library. Volunteers may sign up for 1-2 hour time slots.[[In-content Ad]]
