Walker 40 Days For Life
To the Editor,
The campaign in Walker will kick off with a gathering on Wednesday, September 26, at Noon in front of Cass County Courthouse. Beginning at 1 pm, believers will be joining together in prayer with others from all denominations and churches within a 50 mile radius by having someone in the prayer tent 24 hours a day for those 40 days. All who believe that life in the womb is to be respected and protected will be welcome to join in.
The campaign is made up of three key components: prayer and fasting; peaceful vigil; and community outreach. We in Walker will also be praying for other campaigns across the State of Minnesota, including Bemidji, where believers are braving the elements by praying outside abortion clinics and/or Planned Parenthood offices where referrals are made for abortions. We will also focus on education about abortion, the initial intent behind Roe v Wade, the huge numbers of lives lost and its effects on our country, and the ways in which abortion providers have influenced the minds of people to believe it is something we must have.
The 2012 Campaign marks the 40th year of legalized abortion in this country with 55 million lives lost. The 40 Days for Life vigils over the last seven years have seen more than 535,000 people of faith praying, 190,000 people taken to the streets in prayer vigils, more than 15,000 congregations activated and united for life, and nearly 5,928 children saved from abortion as a direct result of these prayer vigils. Twenty-three abortion facilities have closed and 69 abortion workers have quit their jobs.
