Wabedo Township built a pole barn. They did not get bids from either local suppliers or local builders. When the board was questioned about why local people and businesses were not supported, a board member quipped that he thought of St. Cloud as local. (Fortunately, Chicago was too far away.) Another board associate stated that three bids were sought. It was not mentioned that these also were not local businesses or workers.

This behavior is unacceptable. We need to and should be supporting our local economy and workers. As residents of Wabedo township, we apologize to local building suppliers and local builders.[[In-content Ad]]
