Vote no to more regulations

I am concerned about the upcoming Lake Country Power membership vote concerning regulation by the state Public Utilities Commission. The Public Utilities Commission's duty is to regulate earnings of investor owned utilities not local co-ops. Profits from co-ops benefit the members in the form of capital improvements, maintenance of lines, capital credits and dividends to the member-owners.

The increasing cost of electrical power is mainly due to generation costs, governmental regulations and other factors of which Lake Country Power has no control. Regulation by another governmental bureaucracy would not make these costs go away but would only add more expenses to our local co-op.

Vote no. Keep the control of our electrical rates by our local elected board.[[In-content Ad]]
