Virginia May Raines, 44, of Cass Lake, MN died Oct. 13, 2018 in Cass Lake.

Virginia (Ginger) spent most of her childhood in Bena and in Western Montana. In her adult years she resided in Bena where she raised her boys and worked as a Volunteer Firefighter and first responder for the Federal Dam Fire department. She also worked summer at the Lyle Chisolm Logging camp in Cass Lake MN. Ginger had and avid love for animals, especially horses and dogs. She also had a love for plants and had the greenest thumb around. Ginger enjoyed visiting with friends and family. She always had that contagious smile and her laughter you could hear for miles. The family would like to send out a special thanks to the Hospital Staff of Sanford Bemidji/Fargo and also the nurses at Cass Lake Indian Health Services. And Leech Lake Ambulance Service.

Survived by father Kenny (Twila) Raines Sr, brothers: Kenny (Natalie) Raines Jr. Gregory Christopherson; Sisters Angela Baker and Nina Ruschmeier (MacAdams); Sons Martin and Malichi Raines. Several Nieces and Nephews.

Preceded by mother (Bea Christopherson); grandmothers Mildred MacAdams and Cora Daisy Raines; grandfather Charles Raines; nephew Seth Michael Raines.

Services will be held October 21st at Noon at the Bena Community Center, Old Housing Drive, Bena, MN. Carroll Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.[[In-content Ad]]
