Virginia Langenbacher
Virginia and Harold Langenbacher married in 1941. They moved to work his logging operations out of Cass Lake, Minnesota, and then to Remer, where they began a plumbing company and later a gas station-coffee shop called Station 6 & 34. Her signature cinnamon rolls and pie became favorites in the community. She also worked as a restaurant cook and as a cook in the Remer school cafeteria.
After Harold's death in 1980 Virginia began work as a home health aide making the lives of her clients easier and earning their gratitude. She never stopped caring for others. After she retired from county health, she became a second mother to grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The American Legion Auxiliary honored her work as a member when they asked her to be the Parade Marshal at a Harvest Festival in Remer. She did enjoy waving from her elegant seat in the back of that convertible! She traveled in Germany and around the US to Indiana, Louisiana, Florida, California, Arizona, Oregon, and Alaska. She gardened, fished, hiked, skied, snowmobiled, and in the Boundary Waters, paddled canoe.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, her great-granddaughter, Dana Rae, her two brothers, John and Donovan and three sisters, LaVerne, Eleanor and Dorothy.
Virginia is lovingly remembered. She is survived by her sisters, Valeda and Luletta, and by her sons, Clayton Langenbacher and William (Shelley) Langenbacher and her daughters, Lois (Arnold) Taylor and Suzanne (Art) Feierabend, as well as her grandchildren Erik, Heidi, Megan, Brenda, Brian, Rachel, Michael, and Jason and also her 16 great grandchildren.
There is no funeral planned, we will have a celebration of her life this summer so more family and friends are able to attend.[[In-content Ad]]
