Virgil O. Pofahl
b. Aug. 14, 1924 d. Aug. 6, 2017
He was born in Mankato to Oscar and Olga Pofahl, and grew up to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. He was an active businessman, fisherman and hunter, and a member of Salem Lutheran Church (Longville).
He is survived by children Lynda (Dick) Halbert; Tim (Jan) Pofahl; grandchildren Greg (Katie), Jeff (Natalie), Jake, Ben, and Megan; great-grandchildren Jack and Max; nephew Tom (Ellie) Heintz and their sons Erik and Andy; niece Mary (Garry) Barnett; niece Ann Kalvig; nephew Paul (Terry) Kvitek, and many other loving relatives and caring friends.
He was preceded in death by beloved wife Lois, parents Oscar and Olga, and sister Lois.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Salem Lutheran Church (Longville). There will be an 11:00 a.m. service followed at noon by a fellowship gathering with the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Minnesota Veterans Home (Minneapolis) in Virgil's name are preferred.[[In-content Ad]]
