Violet met Elton Green in Remer in 1947, and they were married March 5, 1949 in Fayetteville, North Carolina where Elton was serving in the U.S. Army. The twenty-year army career moved them around several times, to San Antonio, TX, and to Germany twice. After Elton retired in 1968, they moved back home to Remer where they spent the rest of their lives.
Violet enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling with Elton, and had a passion for all things that involved sewing. She and her daughter Linda did upholstery for several years, and operated the "Cat's Meow" craft business for 20 years, selling their "artistic" works at craft fairs throughout Minnesota. Violet was a great cook in her day, and her Sunday chicken dinners, and Mexican feast will be well remembered.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents in the 1960's; husband of 50 years, Elton in 1999; sister, Yvonne in 1944; and infant grandson, Brandon Green.
