Turnovers cost Eagles in a pair of losses to Hornets and Tigers
The Eagles started well and stayed close early but poor shooting and too many turnovers gave the Hornets plenty of opportunities to blow open the game but a better defensive game by the Eagles helped them stay close at 28-18 at half.
Coming out of halftime the defense kept the Eagles in the game, as the turnovers continued. The Hornets would extend the lead to 52-32 before the Eagles would close out the game with a 19-9 run of their own to close the final score.
Coach Carlson commented "We had some open looks, just couldn't get them to fall. Turnovers....way too many."

The Nevis Tigers brought their 4-0 record to town on Friday, December 12 to take on the hometown Eagles. Nevis could possibly be one of the top teams in the area this season.
The first few minutes of the game the boys played some good defense and played with some high intensity. Knotted at 4-4, the Tigers found their groove and steamrolled through the Eagles the remainder of the half enroute to a 46-11 halftime lead.
Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the other team. The Tigers controlled the boards, forced many Eagle turnovers and knocked down their shots when open.
The Eagles objective became to try to win the second half and played a lot more inspired on the defensive end and had some players come off the bench and knock down some shots, as the Eagles mustered a much better second half, before the scoring ended at 70-31.
