Tigers take advantage of Lady Eagle turnovers

The Northland Lady Eagles played host to the Nevis Tigers last Monday night. Coming off a win against East Central, the girls were hoping to rekindle their season down the stretch. Cold shooting to start out the contest led to a 14 point deficit at halftime and turnovers in the second half resulted in the girls 45-75 loss.

"We came out aggressive on defense in the first half (14 steals), which is exactly what I wanted them to accomplish, however we just kept shooting ourselves in the foot with a turnover. It was very frustrating for all of us," commented Head Coach Jenny Kovall.[[In-content Ad]]Nakina Gross led the Lady Eagles with 15 points and eight rebounds. Abby Burch followed with 11 points and 10 boards; Lizzie Procopio added eight points and 7 boards.

"I see excellent play from all the players at times, we just need to bring it all together on the same night. It's disappointing to have this many turnovers this late in the season, we don't have much time to do a lot of cleanup work," concluded Coach Kovall.
