HACKENSACK - Thomas Frank Williams, 76, of Hackensack, Minn., passed away at his home on Sunday, July 11, 2010. He was born on December 20, 1933 in Brainerd, MN to Frank and Pearl (Tabaka) Williams. Tom graduated school in Hackensack in 1951. He entered the Navy in 1953 and served for 21 years. He retired as the Chief Engineer for the USS Atakapa with a rank of CWO4. He taught diesel mechanics at the University of Wisconsin for 10 years.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Claire and a sister Theresa Hovland.

He is survived by his wife Doris Williams of Largo, Fla., sons; Michael (Penny) Williams of Sturgeon Bay, Wisc., and Stephen Williams of Two Harbors, Minn., daughters; Cynthia Williams of White Law, Wisc., and Jennifer Hall of DePere, Wisc., step daughters; Sharon Hall of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Pamela (Glenn) Gruner of Gig Harbor, Wash., several grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
