Tennis Loverink, 81, passed away on June 9, 2019 at the family home after a long battle with cancer. Tennis was born on April 12, 1938 at home on a farm in Freeborn County, Minnesota to Jeppe (Jack) and Marie (Van Wilgen) Loverink. On May 2, 1959 he married Joan Alice Heilman and they resided in Southern Minnesota until relocating to Remer in 1976 where they began farming. Tennis served his community as a Thunder Lake Township Supervisor for 19 years, Trustee on the Congregational Church board and volunteered as a First Responder for Remer Ambulance until his retirement.

Tennis loved to spend time with his family and friends and was enthusiastic about sharing his faith in the Lord with others. His magnetic personality and quick smile were always a warm welcome to anyone that met him. At the end of the day Tennis could often be found sitting in his lawn swing, overlooking the fields.

Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joan, children: Timothy (Diane) Loverink, Lori (Jim) Sizenbach, and Candace (Lawrence) Edge, Grandchildren: Teresa (Josh) Parise, Robin (Randy) Raines, Mandy (Zach) Jones, Nikki Sizenbach, Jamie (Julie) Sizenbach, Tina (Josh) Jaekel, Max (Kaylyn) Edge, Shayne Loverink, April Sizenbach (Dan), Bill (Troyanna) Edge, Tim Loverink Jr, Arianne (Kyle) Raph, Elizabeth Edge, and 29 Great-Grandchildren

Siblings: Dorene (Dennis) Richards, Deloris Jacobsen, Jim (Viv) Loverink and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tennis was preceded in death by his parents Jeppe (Jack) and Marie Loverink, brother Richard, and grandson Trey Edge.

Specials thanks to the people of the Remer Congregational Church, Dr Laura Rathe, St. Croix Hospice, Cuyuna Regional Medical, Virginia Piper Cancer Institute, and Abbott Northwestern, for their help in caring for Tennis.

A Celebration of Life for Tennis Loverink of Remer, MN will be held at Remer Congregational Church on Sunday, June 23 at 2pm.

A private inurnment will be at a later date at the Lakeview Cemetery in Smokey Hollow Township.[[In-content Ad]]
