Susan Lois Carlson

Sue was born in Joliet, Illinois to Russell and Lois Smith. She graduated from St. Charles High School. She met her one true love, Donald Carlson, and they were married on October 9, 1971 . While raising their two children they lived in various locations, including Hawaii, Tennessee, and North Carolina; then back to Illinois.
Sue and her family loved to spend summer vacations with the Smith family near Longville, Minnesota on Woman Lake and in 2013 they moved to Mounds View, Minnesota to be nearer to the north country. Family was everything to Sue. She cherished the time spent gathered with family in Illinois, or at the lake, and was known for cooking great family meals and for her special ice cream drink dubbed the "North woodsman."
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Lois, and brother Michael. She is survived by her loving husband Donald, daughter Jody, son Michael (Stephanie); brother Roger and sister Janis (James) Kelley; three grandchildren Russell, Benjamin and Emma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
