Spartans fall as Lady Eagles continue to improve

The Lady Eagles offense was hitting on all cylinders when the Nashwauk-Keewatin Spartans hit Remer last Tuesday night. The ladies put five players into double-digit scoring to top off the 81-43 rout.

"The girls really came together tonight!" Said Coach Jenny Kovall.

"They showed improvement in many areas and communicated better than I have seen in previous games this season."

Kori Dunham led the Lady Eagle offense with a season high 19 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Sierra Likens continues her solid play with a double-double effort of 17 points, 5 boards and 16 of the teams 28 steals. Nakina Gross also had a season high with 13 points and 4 rebounds. Brittney Nornberg scored an even dozen including 5 boards and Lizzie Procopio added 10 points, 8 rebounds and a pair of steals.[[In-content Ad]]

I'm proud of the team's effort tonight, they are working hard to improve and hopefully tonight's play is a sign of positive things ahead," concluded Coach Kovall.

The girls travel to Walker-Hackensack-Akeley tonight for the holiday tournament. Game time is 8:15 with following games Wednesday and Thursday night TBD.
