Shooting woes continue to plague Lady Eagles
On January 23, the ladies hosted Bigfork. Despite a one-point halftime lead, inconsistent play in the waning minutes let the win slip away and the Huskies took the contest 66-54.
"We played 30 minutes of good ball, but like many games this year, we had a hard time putting together a complete game," commented Coach Kovall.
Scoring was solid across the board with Keyanna Gross dropping 12 points to go along with a dozen boards; Chloe Wolske added 12 points and four steals; Kali Wake put down 11 points and 10 rebounds; Angie Rajdl chipped in 11 points and six boards and Kristine Johnson contributed eight points and four take-aways.
The Ladies next traveled to East Central in a non-conference match-up to take on the Eagles. Weak shooting contrasted with solid defense to result in a 33-55 East Central victory.
"Again my young team played hard, we were able to get off a lot of good shots in the first half, we're still struggling to get them to drop in," said Coach Kovall.
Wolske led with 10 points; Johnson put down six and added nine steals on defense; Rajdl came down with 10 boards to go with three points and steals.
On Thursday, the girls host Floodwood, and Park Rapids on Monday.[[In-content Ad]]
