She will be missed
To the Editor:
Fifteen years ago, Toni started working for a small organization-- which was run out of the basement of a church-whose mission was to help feed those in need in our community. What an honorable mission this was, but in the beginning, what a difficult task this was for the small town of Longville.
When Toni became the manager, she spent countless hours doing paperwork for funding, writing grants and working with state officials on the best way to move this honorable mission forward. All of those efforts resulted in a little place called "Tossed and Found"...a place that would take donated items from the community and with efforts from volunteers, turn those donations into a profitable endeavor to support the small food shelf.
Fast forward fifteen years... Tossed and Found has become one of the biggest success stories in town! The Longville Food Shelf has become a role model for not only rural communities but for the entire state of Minnesota! State Senators have made the trip to Longville to see this success story. The Longville Food Shelf and Tossed and Found now provide much needed help for many in our community.
Toni's leadership and management, along with her dedicated community volunteers have made this community a more caring and better place to live for all of us.[[In-content Ad]]
