WALKER - Chief Deputy Tom Burch recently announced that the Cass Couty Sheriff's Office application for a 2011 Safe and Sober grant has been accepted. The amount of $20,000 has been set aside for Cass County's Safe and Sober project to enforce impaired, seat belt, speed and aggressive driving.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office and other local law enforcement agencies have participated in Safe and Sober campaigns for several years. Chief Deputy Burch attributes the reduction of fatal alcohol related crashes in Cass County directly to this initiative.
