Ronald "Humphrey" Ray Welk, age 59, of Remer, MN, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital in Grand Rapids, MN.

Ronald was born in 1952 to John and Estelle Welk in Walker, MN. He grew up in Brevik, MN. Ronald attended schools in both Longville and Remer, MN, graduating from Northland High School in 1970. He was united in marriage July 17, 1976 to Sonia Sue Pulkrabek in Mentor, MN, and they made their home in Remer, MN. He worked as a wildlife technician with the MN Department of Natural Resources for 37 years. He loved his family and his home in Remer. He was a great host and was very hospitable to everyone. Ronald enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an avid gardener.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, John and Estelle and one brother, John.

He is survived by his wife, Sonia of Remer, MN; Children, Shawn Welk of Remer MN; Rachel (Craig) Pierce and grandson, Gavin of Grand Rapids, MN; Rebecca Welk of Lino Lakes, MN; 4 sisters, Marilyn (Buzz) Lilyquist of Longville, MN; Gwen Welk-Workman of Plano, TX; Charlotte Wesen of Deer River, MN; and Judy Gravelle of Remer, MN; 2 brothers, Richard (Fay) Welk of Wayzata, MN; and twin brother, Donald Welk of Remer, MN; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 21st from 5-7 P.M. at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Longville, MN, and will continue at church Friday, June 22nd from 10 A.M. until the 11 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial. Rev. Fr. Joseph Sirba will officiate.
