Ronald Arthur Lambert
b. Sept. 28, 1943 - d. Aug. 21, 2010
Ron was born September 28, 1943 in Pine River, Minnesota to Charles and Hazel (Malmo) Lambert. He graduated from Longville High School as a member of its last graduating class. Following high school he moved to Yakima Valley, Washington and worked in the apple orchards prior to joining the Army Reserves in 1964. On September 18, 1965 he married Phyllis Daniels and they moved to the Iron Range where Ron worked for Red Owl for eight years. In 1973 they moved to Hackensack, Minnesota where he worked in logging for a short time before beginning employment at Blandin Paper Company in Grand Rapids. He retired in 2005 after 30 years of service.
Ron was an unforgettable person whose family meant everything to him. During his last several months of life his goal was to do whatever he could to create lasting memories with his family. He will be remembered as a man with a big heart who would do anything for anyone. He had a great sense of humor, loved to play practical jokes, and was quick witted. Ron also had a creative side and enjoyed photography, working with wood, and designing and building things. Hunting was also one of his favorite things to do with family. How he lived life has left an imprint on all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his wife Phyllis, son; James Lambert (Jason Dickinson), daughter; Kisha (John) Korcha, granddaughter Ashley, sisters; Marie (Chub) Brewster-Christy, Kathleen Bierbaum, cousin Ed Lambert who was like a brother to Ron, Aunt Marcella Johnson, and the other joys of his life- his cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews who all fondly called him "uncie".
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother- in-law Wayne Bierbaum.
A Celebration of Ron's life will be held Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 12 Noon at the Daniel's Farm near Remer, with Vickie Daniels officiating.
