Robert Virtice Bullock
b. April 8, 1926 - d. Dec. 18, 2010
He was born April 8, 1926 on a ranch near Brady, Neb., to Virtice and Myrtle Bullock. He attended 12 years of school, boiler school and then went on to receive a Chief Engineer License. He enlisted in the Army Air Force in February 1944. He was on active duty from August 1944 until October 1945 and then remained on inactive reserve until 1950.
He married Gladys Qualey on Nov. 29, 1946 at Austin, Minn. They moved to Deer River in 1948 and resided there since that time. Bob worked for US Steel and Blandin Paper Company. He also farmed and was always willing to help others. He faithfully attended the Log Chapel Church in Boy River and was very active there.
He is survived by his children, Glenn (Sheila) Bullock, of Deer River, Sharon Richards, of Remer, Gary (Kathy) Bullock, of Remer, and Carol (Fred) Thompson, of Deer River; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dean and Virgil; and five sisters, Dorothy Hulbert, Lois Loverink, Eileen Prochaska, Virginia Corwin and Evelyn Perrault.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys in 1996, his parents, brother Dale, sister Alice and granddaughter Kimberley.
Services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Solid Rock Church of God, in LaPrairie, Minn., with the Rev. Dennis Gonczy officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Remer.
