Bob was born in 1933 to Hugh and Lois Carey, in Mitchell, S.D. He graduated from Madison High School, in Madison, Minn., and St. Cloud Teachers College. He served in the U.S. Army. He taught industrial arts at the Princeton Middle School for 33 years.
He was an active member of the Princeton Masonic Lodge; the Uhrah Shrine Temple and the Uhrah Shrine Drum Corps. He as a long-time member of First Congregational Church, in Princeton.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Ann Nilson (Byron), and grandson, Connor, all of Eagan, Minn.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at First Congregational Church, in Princeton, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 at First Congregational Church, in Princeton, until the 11 a.m. services.
Burial will be at Fort Snelling Cemetery, in Minneapolis, Minn., at a later date.[[In-content Ad]]
