He was born in Minneapolis, May 9, 1957 to Robert C. Best Sr. and Mary Louis (Casey) Best. On Aug. 28, 1982 he
and Mary Nell Strunk were married in Shakopee. He was Senior Facilities Manager for Jones Lang LaSalle.
Bob was a friend of Bill W for over ten years. He was wearing a helmet when the accident occurred. He will be honored by the Twins with a moment of silence before the Twins and Yankees game Thursday, Aug. 18.
He is survived by wife, Mary Nell; daughter, Meghan; son, John "Jack"; brothers, Paul Best and Jeff Best; mother- in-law, Mona Roach Strunk; brothers-in-law; sisters-inlaw; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents and sister-in-law, Paula Best.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the McNearney Funeral Home, Shakopee, Friday, Aug. 19 from 4-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 9:30-11 a.m. Memorial Service at St. Michael Catholic Church, Prior Lake, Saturday at 11 a.m. Lunch will follow the service. Officiating at the funeral service is the Rev. Francis J. Roach. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials for the children's education.
