Robert A. "Bob" Lyngen
b. Feb. 26, 1926 d. Sept. 12, 2018
Bob retired from IBM after 30 years as Department Technician and Sr. Associate. Bob then managed the Zumbrota Senior Living apartments. He married Caroline on Dec. 11, 1982. To his dismay he became an instant grandfather to a rapidly increasing number of grandchildren. His pride and joy was having his Honda Goldwing, truck, car and park model, shining with a new coat of wax! His passion for green grass, clean windows and polished cars was appreciated by many. Bob enjoyed all types of woodworking, constructing several homes, wooden toys, doll houses and fun Norwegian gifts. He enjoyed traveling and spending winters (out of the snow!) in Arizona. Bob always had busy days- ushering at church, helping his stepchildren build their homes, maintaining a beautifully manicured yard, taking grandchildren to the ice cream shop and riding his glistening red scooter to the hardware store for popcorn. Although Bob experienced dementia in his final years, he continued to demonstrate his love for music when he would spontaneously break out in song and dance. His face would light up with recognition when his great grandchildren visited him at May Creek Memory Care.
Bob will be greatly missed by his family.
Memorials in Bob's name may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the Twin Cities Shriner's Hospital for Children.
Services were held on Monday, September 17, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hackensack. Arrangements with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.[[In-content Ad]]
