Ridgewood Ladies Golf League to host 'The Colors of Cancer' event
In year's past, the Ridgewood Ladies Golf League, would dress in pink and play in the "Rally for a Cure," golf tournament. This year, the celebration of survivors of cancer will be honored with "The Colors of Cancer." Each cancer is represented by a specific color. The ladies in the league will dress in colors and use ribbons to show how many different cancers have affected their lives, the lives of family and community members. A cancer color chart will be available at registration.
Alina Burks will be the featured speaker at the luncheon, she is the granddaughter of Patty Burks. Special recognition will be given during the luncheon for all cancer survivors present.
The ladies league will not solicit donations from area businesses this year, however, the league will gratefully accept anything anyone would like to donate the league. All donations will be acknowledged at the luncheon. To make a donation of an item or cash, contact Harriet Mouw at (218) 682-3424 or Pam Harrison at (218) 566-1434.
There will be opportunities on the golf course to play additional games such as closest to the pin, rainbow of putts and Mulligan man. There will also be games inside the clubhouse, and raffle items. Door prizes will be awarded to those in attendance.
Plan now to attend this day of golf, fun, fellowship and in the process make a difference fighting against cancer. Your donation to the American Cancer Society will make a difference in "Helping people stay well, helping people get well, finding cures and fighting back." All proceeds fro the day will be donated to the American Cancer Society by way of local Relay for Life teams. For more information, you can visit RelayForLife.org.[[In-content Ad]]
