Richard "Dick" Marinucci
b. Aug. 1, 1939 - d. Oct. 13, 2010
Dick was born August 1, 1939 in Hibbing, Minnesota, the son of Atilio and Ellen (Kiskis) Marinucci. He graduated from Hibbing High School. He attended Hibbing Junior College and graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
He married Ruth Joy Silver in Chisholm in 1960. He married Mary Rettig in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1994.
He taught high school science along with numerous other subjects from 1961-1966 at Rolette Public School in Rolette, North Dakota. He also coached football for Rolette winning 5 consecutive conference championships.
Dick purchased Broadway Pizza in Fargo in 1966. At one time he had three pizza shops to manage.
Dick bought the ABC Seamless Siding franchise in Brainerd in 1980 and the Bemidji Franchise in 1985. He worked in sales while managing the company for several years.
He was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed the full hunting seasons. He enjoyed fishing, harvesting wild rice and trapping. He wrote a cookbook including family recipes and stories of his past. He enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and friends. He was a great story teller.
Dick was a member of the El Zagel Shrine Club and the Aadzuhman Shrine Club.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, Walker; daughters; Lauri (Eric) Langlie, Glyndon, Toni, Dilworth, sons; Ed, Cambridge, Monte (Jodi), West Fargo, Grandchildren; Jason, Justin, Amanda, Alex, and Cole, sister, Donna (Bob) Ruskanen, brother, Pete (Marge Gaasland), nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one granddaughter, Sessy.
The family requests Memorials be made to the Shriners Children Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House.
Memorial Mass will be Saturday, October 23, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Longville with Father Joseph Sirba officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Inurnment in Arlington Cemetery, Boy River.
