Retha was proceded in death by her parents William and Ada Terrell and nine of her ten siblings. She was married for forty-nine years to Max E. Marsh who died in December of 1987. In October of 1994, at the age of 75, she married Winfield J. Scott. They were married for sixteen years, until his death in 2009. She chose well, both men were wonderful marriage partners.
Retha is survived by her sister Jean Fisch of Paulina IA. Her three children: Barbara (Mike) Jacobsen of O'Fallon, MO; Steve (Daphne) Marsh, of Chandler AZ; Susan (David) Frazier of Camino, CA also survive her. She leaves behind six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. One grandson preceded her in death.
In her high school year book she aspired to be an executive secretary and she achieved that goal working for American Mutual Life Insurance Company in Des Moines, IA.
Retha moved to the Longville area in 1982 and spent many happy days in her Woman Lake home. She later moved to the Parkshore Senior Campus in St Louis Park, MN. In 2009, at age 90, she moved to Eskaton Village Assisted Living in Placerville, CA, and enjoyed new friendships. In the final year of her life, Susan and David's home provided a beautiful, supportive, fun-filled environment with wonderful caregivers. Her family is grateful to her many caregivers and to Snowline Hospice of El Dorado County.
Retha remained, until her death, a gracious, funny, mischievious woman, who throughout her life was an inspiration to her children and a positive influence on others. Thanks Mom. We will miss you.[[In-content Ad]]
