Remer to the Rescue
To the Editor,
To the City of Remer,
I wanted to send a short letter to your community to share just how important you being involved in MNWARN (Minnesota Water and Wastewater Agency Response Network) helped the communities of Carlton and Sturgeon Lake.
I have known Mark Madden and Dave Lehman for a number of years and through our involvement and yours with Minnesota Rural Water Association. Mark and Dave along with the City of Remer saw the importance of how MNWARN can be a great resource for communities in need.
On June 21st 2012 I called Dave and Mark and asked them through the MNWARN agreement if Carlton could use Remer's Pump. Mark and Dave were very accommodating in helping prepare to mobilize the 6-inch Pump. The travel time to get to another MNWARN community Carlton, the Pump went to work and without a beat Pumped for about 24 hours.
The need for this pump was vital and the speed of the arrival of this pump and the access helped Carlton pump the flood waters out of the sanitary sewer system, and water from flooded basements. How MNWARN worked in this major rain event in NE MN was text book perfect.
We appreciate the City of Remer and Mark Madden and Dave Lehman for theirprompt help in helping other communities in need during this 12-inch Rain event.[[In-content Ad]]
