Quilts bring comfort to those in need
To the Editor,
As we begin our second year, we look forward to making more quilts exclusively for local need. Last year, our goal was to make 50 quilts...to our surprise, we made over 230! With your help, this year we can make more!
Quilts have gone to each deputy in Cass County for their squad car, the Longville Fire Department, Longville Food Shelf, Remer Food Shelf, Family Safety Network, Transition Shelter for the homeless, Walker Area Pregnancy Center, needy families in several area communities, fire victims, Silent Auctions to help raise funds for school field trips, local church, people grieving the loss of their spouse, a wounded warrior, Hackensack First Response Team, and the Relay for Life.
If you would like to volunteer, no quilting or sewing experience is needed. We begin meeting on the 8th January through March each Tuesday at the Longville Fire Department from 9:00 - 2:00. We have a great potluck lunch where spouses join us, all are welcome.
To learn more, contact Melanie Mix 363-2240, or Carol Seymour 363-2041.
If you would like to help, we are seeking financial donations, quilting fabric & sewing supplies.[[In-content Ad]]
