One of Minnesota's Greatest Generation of working mothers during World War II, Phyllis wrote daily to Jack in the Navy for two years. An outdoors woman, she enjoyed birding, camping, fishing, and gardening. Phyllis made many friends in Longville and she spoke of them fondly.
