Penalties and inconsistency cost Eagles
"The boys came out with some needed intensity but penalties and some injuries kept us from scoring more points and stopping the Cherry offense when we needed to," said Coach Shem Daugherty.
"We had two touchdowns and several other positive gains called back due to penalties. We are still looking for the right combination to put a "w" in the win column."
For the Eagle offense, Zach Philstrom put up 42 yards on 5 carries; Kevin Murphy went 7 yards on 3 carries and was 7 for 16 in the air. Taylor Anderson rushed for 17 yards on 5 touches; Jordan Tabaka led the Eagle offensive charge with 35 yards on the ground and 102 in the air along with 18 yards on a kick return. Patrick Kemper chipped in 17 yards on 5 carries.
Defensively, Chris Scheidt led the Eagles with a dozen tackles, followed by Dakota Kelley with 9. Devin Mulligan had 7 stops and Anderson with 6.
"We continue to make improvements each time out, we need to get more consistent on both sides of the ball," concluded Coach Daugherty.
The Eagles will travel to Nevis this Friday to take on the Tigers in a 7 p.m. matchup.[[In-content Ad]]
