Pearl was born December 6, 1939 in St Rose Dulac, Manitoba Canada, to Adolph and Rose Nieman. She was married to Emery Stone in Dennison, IA at the Little Brown Church in the vale, and spent many years between Minneapolis and the cabin in Boy River, moving there full time with her sons "Bud" and Wes when Emery retired. Along with being a homemaker, Pearl had various jobs including waitressing at a resort, a dry cleaners and planted pine trees for the DNR. Pearl spent many Christmases making wreaths, to make Christmas special for her boys. She enjoyed gardening and then canning in the fall, and spent over 10 years as a CAN. Pearl continued to carve out a life for 22 years in Boy River after the passing of Emery, then moved to Pequot Lakes to live with her son Westley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Rose Nieman; sisters, Helen Williams, Elsie Podamie, Louise Chernoff and Minnie Tomlinson; brother, Rudy Nieman; husband, Emery Stone; and son Emery "Bud" Stone.
Pearl is survived by her son Westley (Amy) Stone; grandsons, Ben (Rachel) Stone, Jacob Stone, Seth Stone and Silas Stone; grand daughters, Darla Max and Malyssa Engren; great grandchildren, David, Elliot and Hailee Stone. Also survived by her extended family members: Bob, Cathy, Robbie and Sue Stone, Terry, Carol, Bill and Mike Stone.
Funeral Services will be held at the Boy River Log Chapel (Activity Center) on Wednesday, October 19th at 1:00 p.m. with the Visitation being held one hour before. The internment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Remer, MN.
