Northland/Deer River track results announced


The Deer River/Northland (DRN) boys track team hosted Greenway/Nashwauk/Keewatin (GNK) Tuesday in a Northern Lakes Conference meet at Deer River finishing in second place with a final score of 70. GNK finished in first place at 81 points and Bigfork finished a distant third with 35.

Individual and team results for the DRN meet include:

In the 3200 meter relay, DRN finished second with a time of 10:33.20.

The 110 meter hurdles saw Nate Harder win for the third week in a row with a time of 15.80. In the 100 meter dash Devon Pehrson crossed the line first in a time of 11.60.

In the 800 meter relay the boys mustered a second place finish in 1:43.90. At 1600 meters Cody Gustafson finished first in a time of 5:26.00, third went to Wil Neurer in 5:33.00 and Jake Spartz finished fourth in 5:54.00.

400 M relay results were GNK first in 46.60 and DRN second with 49.80. The 400 M dash had Pehrson lead the way in 52.80 and Nick Engen in third with 58.90. The 300M interm. hurdles had Nate Harder first with a time of 45.90 and Marshal Stay in third with a time of 52.20.

Tanner Thompson finished fourth in the 800M at 2:44.00. Pehrson dashed his way to first at 200M in 23.60. Bill Haubrich finished fourth in 25.50.

At 3200 meters Gustafson finished ahead of the field in 11:58.00 and Adam Machen finished fourth in 13:08.00. The 1600M relay was dominated by DRN finishing nearly a half-minute ahead of second place GRN with a time of 4:02.60.

Pehrson finished fourth in the long jump at 17'06.00". Eric Ortloff was third in the pole vault at 8'00.00". Nate Harder was second in the high jump at 5'02.00". In the triple jump August Marleau finished third with 32'06.00" followed by Stay at 31'06.00". In the shot put Robert Raines chucked the sphere 38'04.50", good enough for fourth place. He also landed fourth place in the discus with a throw of 108'04.00".

On the Lady Eagle side of the meet, GNK topped the scoring with 118 points followed by DRN at 54 and a distant Bigfork with 11.

In the 100M hurdles, Ann Olson finished fourth for DRM in 19.40. The 100M dash Alexandra Vickerman finished third in 14.40 followed by teammate Laurel Wright in 15.60. The 800M relay had DRN finish in second place with a time of 2:11.00. At 1600M the ladies broke into the winner's circle as Mindy Drotts finished in 6:34.00 and Kaila Juntenen finished in fourth at 7:03.00. The 400M relay found the girls nearly 5 seconds off the winning pace at 1:01.60. 400M dash had Makendra Anderson in second at 1:11.10 and fourth place Danielle Make in 1:17.40.

The 300M low hurdles, Ann Olson won with a time of 52.60. In the 800M run Anderson was second with 2:50.00 and Drotts fourth in 2:56.00. At 200M Olson again prevailed in 29.70. 3200M finishers included Ashley Trout, third with 16:35.80 and Kaila Juntenen fourth in 16:36.30. DRN finished second in the 1600M relay in 5:16.00. The long jump had Vickerman in third, only .04" from the lead with a distance of 14'07", and in the pole vault Kim Velishek was first with 7'06.00" followed by Donna Veleshek at 7'00.00". Olson finished third in the high jump at 4'06". Danielle Make was fourth at the triple jump with a distance of 26'04.00" who also placed fourth in the shot put at 29'10.00".[[In-content Ad]]On Thursday the DRN invitational at Deer River played host to International Falls, Walker, Albrook and Bigfork. International Falls came out on top with a score of 146.50 followed by Walker at 70.50, Albrook at 54.00, DRN with 53.00 and Bigfork at 33.00.

DRN finished second in the 3200M relay with 10:30, one minute behind winner IFalls. Nate Harder continued his dominance in 110M hurdles with a winning time of 16 seconds flat. DRN finished second, again behind winner IFalls in the 800M relay at 1:45.40. In the 400M relay DRN landed third with a time of 52.30.

The 300M interm hurdles were once again won by Nate Harder in 44.10. Bill Haubrich finished third in the 200M dash in 25 seconds. Cody Gustafson led DRN in the 3200M run with a second place finish in 12:02.00 followed in fifth place by Adam Machen in 12:41.00. Eric Ortloff cleared 7'06.00" to land in fourth place in the pole vault. Tanner Thompson finished fifth in the triple jump clearing a total of 32'10.00". Robert Raines finished second in discus with a distance of 111' 11.00" and Chris Scheidt was fifth with 98' 11.00".

The ladies finished in third place overall with 68 points led only by IFalls at 118.00 and Albrook at 82, followed by Walker at 62.00 and Bigfork at 29.00.

The 3200M relay found DRN in third place in a time of 13:07.00. The 100M dash had Laurel Wright and Donna Velishek in a dead heat for fifth place in 15.50. At 800M relay DRN finished third with 2:07.10. In the 1600M run Mindy Drotts finished only .06 out of the top spot at 6:19.00.

The 400M relay was a time of 1:00.90, good enough to land second place. The 400M dash had Korrin Archer in fourth with 1:17.80. The 300M low hurdles had Ann Olson in second with a 53.40 effort. Makendra Anderson finished third in 2:46.00 seconds in the 800M run. Olson finished second behind Walker's Breanna Kennedy in 28.40. In the 1600M relay DRN finished third behind Walker 4:25.20 and IFalls 4:59.10 with a 5:12.00 time. The long jump had Kim Velishek clear at 8'00.00" for third place. Olson cleared 4'06.00" in the high jump for the win. Maki traveled 26'10.00" to land in third in the triple jump. Maki also tossed the shot put a distance of 29'08.50" fir a third place finish.
