Northland Preschool
To the Editor,
The Northland Area Early Childhood preschool programs; school district, Family Center, Bi-Cap Head Start, and Leech Lake Head Start, work together to provide a preschool experience for its youngsters before entering Kindergarten. The school district and Bi-Cap have classrooms in the Remer Elementary. Leech Lake has a classroom in the Sugar Point community center. The Family Center classroom is in the Family Center building at 320 Eagle Avenue in Remer.
The Family Center site is unique in that our facility is actually a home-personalized with some little toilets and sinks! The classroom is on the 'garden' level. The children eat family style in the kitchen and assist with clean up duties. The yard, fields, and forest provide plenty of room to run and explore.
Three staff work together to support the children's learning experience. Deb Dillard is a licensed Pre-K to 6th grade teacher and has worked with the Family Center for twelve years. Faye Zorman and Angie Hare both work as part time assistants. Faye has worked with Deb for five years and Angie for one.
The Family Center preschool program is available to area three and four year old children. We offer a full day program that follows the school district schedule. We partner with the district's school lunch and transportation programs. Families are able to choose two, three, or four day enrollment options. We are a friendly bunch, at preschool, and love to share our day with visitors.
Preschool is just one of the many wonderful things that are happening at the Northland Area Family Service Center! Future editions of the Pine Cone Press will hold more about our activities. 'See' you then![[In-content Ad]]
