Emerging from the Christmas break and after taking the Sebeka Tournament, the Northland Eagles were anxious to host the Laporte Wildcats. The boys played a solid, consistent game and after taking a commanding lead in the first half 42-19, they cruised to a 91-51 win.

Following the Wildcat victory, it was time to travel to Onamia for a non-conference match-up. After a hard fought first half that found the Eagles off by only a point, the Panthers widened the gap in the second half and walked away 84-56. Junior guard Zak Nornberg suffered a shoulder injury in the loss, but expects to be back in action soon.

Last Tuesday, the Eagles were on the road again, this time to Bigfork. The boys played another solid first half trailing by only five. Another injury to starting senior forward Taylor Smith in the first minute of the game did not help the boys chances, leaving the second half to the Huskies, who slowly pulled away and at the final buzzer it was 84-56.

The boys next game is tonight (Tuesday) at Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig then Friday night they travel to Deer River. Monday night the boys will host McGregor. Tip off is at 7:15 p.m.[[In-content Ad]]
