Norris was born May 11, 1937 in Floyd County Iowa near Rudd to Roger and Vera (Blunt) Krause. He married Sue Hildebrand in Milwaukee in September 1958.
Norris raised his family in the Carpenter/St. Ansgar/Osage Iowa area until he opened Little Ponderosa Resort in Longville in 1969. The family spent winters in Iowa until 1974 when the permanent move was made to Longville.
Norris was never short on variety in his life. He loved the resort and most of all, the amazing customers who became friends. He always had a "salesman" side and used that talent selling real estate for Bill Hansen Realty for 22 years. After selling the resort in 1991, he couldn't sit still. While still a Realtor for Bill Hansen, he opened up Treasure House Antiques in Longville, finally housing his shop in the old Salem Lutheran Church building.
Norris' military experience includes two years in the Army, three years in the Air Force and two with the National Guard.
Norris was preceded in death by his wife Sue and his father Roger. He leaves behind his dear cherished companion of twenty-six years, Shirley Severson; brother Marvin and mother Vera; daughters Tori (Gregg) Eide and Kyle (Jeff) Gumbert, grandson Travis Eide and wife Jenna, and great-grandson Colton.
