New store coming to Main Street Remer
To the Editor,
With fewer resources, people have to go out of town for their needs and this leads to lower revenue for the remaining businesses. For example, if people have to drive to Grand Rapids for needed clothing items, it costs $16.00 for gas on average at current prices to travel there and back. If people are forced to buy their needed items out of town, then they will also buy their groceries, get their hair cut, fill up with gas, buy household necessities, and eat out there instead of doing those things in Remer.
Thrifty, Nifty & New is a brand new shop opening soon on the Main Street of Remer that will benefit area residents by offering quality merchandise and more at very reasonable prices. How can we do this? We can do this with your financial donations, your volunteered time, and your donations of clean usable clothing, household items, accessories, toys, linens, tools, furniture, etc.
By filling a niche, we are not in competition with other local established businesses. We would give local people a reason and the opportunity to shop locally, and save money in the process.
We are 100% volunteer and 100% of our store profits will stay in Remer to help fund projects to make our area an even better place to live and work.
If you have any questions, wish to make an appointment to drop off clean useable items, or if you would like to volunteer for even an hour or two, please call me at 566-2598.[[In-content Ad]]
