"Maudie" graduated from Boy River, Minn., High School in 1942 and was united in marriage to Clarence "Lefty" Daniels on November 16, 1942, in Deer River, Minn. Maude and Lefty had two children and in 1948, the family moved to LaCrosse, Ind. After 33 years working at Indiana General, Maude retired in 1982. Maude and Lefty moved to Sioux Falls, SD in 1993 to be closer to daughter Janet and family.
Maude was baptized in the United Methodist Church of LaCrosse, and was a member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church, in Sioux Falls. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, was a member of the Sioux Falls Quilters Guild, Southern Hills Bible Study, and Hill Top UMW Circle.
Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Janet Lenderts (Sioux Falls); grandchildren Julie Daniels (Spring Hill, Fla.), Susan Lenderts (Raleigh, N.C.), Jackie and Madeline Loger (Sioux Falls); brother Eugene (Alda) Godfrey (Remer); sister Grace Daniels (Bemidji, Minn.); numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Maude was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Dennis Daniels, sister Evelyn Houchins; and brothers James, Raymond, and George Godfrey.
A prayer service will be held on Friday, August 19, at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were at 11 a.m., on Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Southern Hills United Methodist Church.
