HACKENSACK - Mary Jean Falk, 74, of Hackensack, MN died on October 23, 2011 at the Saint Cloud Hospital.

Mary was born February 2, 1937 in Minneapolis to Clarence and Betty (Sherwood) Schnabl. She graduated from Wilson High School in St. Paul and worked at Porkie's Drive-In, Bruce Publishing, and Scott's Dime Store.

She married Carl James Falk on March 9, 1956 in St. Paul. After a reception in Hackensack, they lived a short time in Kennewick, Washington. They returned to Hackensack to work at the Byway On the Highway family business. She also worked over the years for the Hackensack Telephone Company, Backus State Bank, Lyle Gerke, Hackensack Texaco, and she was a co-owner of Falk Distributing. She retired in 2005 from First National Bank in Hackensack and served as the Birch Lake Township Clerk for 23 years. She was also a member of the Hackensack American Legion Women's Auxiliary.

Mary is survived by her children Daniel Falk (Lynn) of Bemidji, Susan Falk Rubitschung (Kevin) of Hackensack, and Julie Fallgren (Mike) of Benedict, her grandchildren Kristi and Katie Rubitschung, Adam Falk, and Matthew Johnson; her sister Katherine Henry (Richard) of Tucson, sister-in-law Ethelyn Carder (Richard) of Brainerd; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Mary will be remembered for her love of having fun with her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hackensack with Rev. Bob Alley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Hackensack. The Dennis Funeral Home of Walker assisted the family in making service arrangements.
