Mary E. Brooke, age 79, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2019 at the Essential Health Deer River Hospital, Deer River, MN.

Mary was born in 1940 to Ernest and Elva Collins in Turtle Lake Township, MN. Mary and Ronald Brooke were united in marriage on April 23, 1958 in Park Rapids, MN. They moved to Remer, MN in 1974. Mary enjoyed cooking and canning; making pickles, jams, and jellies. She enjoyed playing cards and dice games and listening to Bluegrass music.

She is preceded in death by parents; sisters, Jeanne Eckman, Merle Eckman; and brothers, Ernest "Buck" Collins Jr. and Loren Collins.

Mary is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ron; daughters, Terri (Mike) Curry, Sheryl Brooke, Lorrie (Marlin) Herbert, Janice Luehrs; sisters, Judy Stumpf and Ellen Kloehn; brothers, Jack Collins, George Collins, Bruce Eckman; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Per Mary's request, a private family celebration of her life will be held at a late date.
