Marlyn "Marly" Duane Boor, age 63, of Torrey Township, MN, in rural Remer, died Saturday, October 10, 2015 at home. He was born in 1952 to Maurice and Tillie Boor in Iowa Falls, MN. Marlyn grew up in Janesville, IA and in 1968 moved to "In The Wilds Resort" on Swift Lake near Remer, MN. He graduated from Northland High School in Remer in 1970. In 1971 he moved to Minneapolis and on October 16, 1971, he was married to Ione Cheney in Remer. They made their home in Minneapolis until 1973 when they returned to Remer. Marlyn worked in the construction industry for many years, working for several large firms including his own company, Marly's Construction. In 1993 he joined The Kraus-Anderson Construction Company as project superintendent. Marlyn enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.

Preceding Marlyn in death were his parents and a nephew, Curtis Cheney.

Marlyn is survived by his wife, Ione; two children, Shawn (Katie) of Eagan, MN and Mandy (George) Giffen of Torrey Township; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler and Nicholas Boor, Grant, Kyra, Tyson and Grady Giffen; two sisters, Treva-Destival of Oelwein, IA and Terri (John) Smith of Deer River; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th at 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service at the West Cohasset Chapel in west Cohasset, MN. Rev. Charles Nelson will officiate.
