Marlene was a loving wife and mother. She is survived by her husband Ernest Cook, Sr.; 5 children - Ernest, Jr. (Tammy) Cook, Brenda (Cliff) Smith, Randall (Jocelyn) Cook, Deb (Dan) Stafford, and Gary (Jessica) Cook; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul & Nellie Keener; her brothers, Carl and Roger; and her granddaughter Julie Smith Branville.
Marlene was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on May 20, 1938. She married Ernest Cook, the love of her life, on October 2, 1956 and went on to raise five children. She worked part time at US Bank and KinderCare, but devoted most of her life to her family and home.
She was an avid traveler who enjoyed animals (both wild and domestic), puzzles, cross-stitch, keeping in touch with friends & family on social media and the occasional penny slots at the casino.
Marlene will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at Washburn-McReavy Coon Rapids Chapel, 1827 Coon Rapids Boulevard, Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Visitation will be Friday, May 29, 2015 from 6 PM to 8 PM and again at 10 AM on Saturday, May 30, 2015 with services following at 11 AM.
Post funeral reception will be immediately following at the Anoka Masonic Lodge #30, 1900 3rd Ave, Anoka, MN 55303
