Marion H. Woie, of Mankato, died on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Ecumen Pathstone Living in Mankato.

A tribute to Marion's life will be celebrated at a later date. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marion was united in marriage to Carl Hans Woie on May 31, 1947 in Duluth. Together they owned and operated Harms Woods Standard Service. Marion was a member of the Mankato Women's Club, North Links Golf Club Women's League, Mankato Area Lifelong Learners, ISJ Hospital Auxiliary, Longville Snowmobile Club, Leech Lake Arts League in Walker, and several Bridge Clubs in Mankato. She was the Republican Party Secretary and the Wabedo Township Clerk, both of Longville. Marion volunteered at the American Red Cross, the ISJ Hospital Gift Shop and the local election polls.

Marion was a true artist. She was a talented painter specializing in watercolors. She enjoyed handcrafting her Christmas cards. She was an accomplished knitter and a fabulous seamstress, who fashioned her own wardrobe. She especially enjoyed sewing and knitting for her family. Throughout her life, Marion enjoyed planning parties and events for her family and her friends. She loved a good theme party. She was a seasoned traveler. Whether it was her annual trip to visit friends in Longville; driving to her beloved hometown, Duluth & up the shore; or around the world with her husband Carl, Marion enjoyed it all.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Walter S.) Horton of Rapid City, SD and Marcia (Brian) Robertson of Mankato; son, Geoffrey (Karin) Woie of Ivins, UT; seven grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Horton of Mandeville, LA, Lindsay Horton Markham of Denver, CO, Erick (Sumiye) Horton of Springfield, VA and their daughter Mira, Kelly Robertson of Mankato, Emily Robertson of Mankato, Ian (Andrea) Woie of Richmond, VA, and their daughter Hannah, and Alexander Woie (Ethan Bliss) of Sausalito, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Hoffman; husband, Carl Hans Woie; and sister, Dorothy Hoffman Monsson.
