Marilyn was born on July 4, 1932, to Orville and Minnie (Peterson) Wegan in Barron, Wisconsin. Marilyn and her husband, William "Bud" LaVallee, started their family of four children in Pengilly, MN, and then moved south to White Bear Lake. They later bought a retirement home near Longville. When Marilyn's husband passed away, she lived alone for a time and then moved to be with her daughter Linda until health concerns led her to Dignity & Grace Assisted Living in Backus.
Marilyn was an active, loving person who loved her family, taking care of her home, and being outdoors. Born on the 4th of July, some would say she was a real firecracker. She loved to dance and loved to attend games when her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were playing sports. She loved her church in Longville and loved being with her family at their get-togethers and visits to Linda's cabin.
Marilyn will be greatly missed by her daughter Linda Lonning and sons Larry and Lonnie (John) LaVallee; her 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; siblings Betty, Pat, Judy, Leo, Dale, Dennis, Dewey, and Peggy; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bud" LaVallee, son Roger LaVallee, sister Jo and her parents.
Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, Marilyn's family is planning a Celebration of Life event sometime this summer. She will be buried in a private family service in the Riverside Cemetery, Longville, MN.
Arrangements are being provided by Whispering Pines funeral & Cremation Service.[[In-content Ad]]
