March Food Share Campaign
To the Editor:
The Longville Area Food Shelf (LAFS) is again asking individuals, organizations, businesses and townships to join us in supporting our local food shelf.
Many in our community - elderly, children, friends and neighbors - continue to suffer from hunger and food insecurity. Your contributions, no matter how small, help us to wage the war against hunger.
There are many ways to help support this campaign. Individuals, businesses and/or organizations can donate funds by mail or in person. Food and/or fund drives can also be held. Everyone is invited to participate in the Pot-Of-Gold drive-through fundraiser on March 13th from Noon till 2:00 p.m. Make a donation, meet our Leprechaun and enter a drawing for a spending spree at the Tossed & Found Boutique!
The LAFS budget is $95,000 for food costs in 2021. The vast majority of this money comes to us during the March Campaign. Remember, every dollar you donate is spent on food purchases! ALL overhead costs (heat, electricity, phone, etc.) are covered by proceeds from Tossed & Found Boutique.
Please help to make a difference in this community. With your help, we can work to relieve some of the struggles of having to choose between buying food or paying rent. Food is a basic human need. Donations can be sent to Longville Area Food Shelf, PO Box 308 Longville, MN. 56655. We remain grateful for your compassion and continued support.[[In-content Ad]]
