Loren Bruce Collins, age 72, of Remer, MN, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Cuyana Regional Medical Center in Crosby, MN. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments of acute myeloid leukemia. Loren was born in 1945 to Ernest and Elva Collins in Deer River, MN. He was no stranger to hard work as he grew up working with his father and brothers logging. He then went on to start his own trucking/logging business and also worked at US Steel mine for 12 years.

On July 31st, 1965, Loren married his beloved Bonita Carol Frank. They had two wonderful children, Dwayne Jon Collins and Angela Lynn Collins. They made their home in Remer, MN, where he loved spending time with his family and friends. He loved bluegrass music, old cars, and playing with his great grandchildren.

Loren was a kind, caring, generous and loving person to everyone he knew and even to those he just met. People all around were drawn to him because of his wonderful personality.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Jeannie Eckman and Amaryllis Rude; and his brother, Ernest "Buck".

Loren will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Bonita "Bonnie"; children, Dwayne Collins and Angie (Harold) Lee; 7 grandchildren, DJ Collins, Ashley Collins, Jacob Collins-Winger, Elizabeth Schuh, James, Shawn, and Mysterry Gamble; 2 great-grandchildren, Julian James, Brielle Lauren with a third great granddaughter on the way; siblings, Mary (Ronnie)Brooks, Judy Stumpf, Alonzo "Jack" Collins, Ellen Kloehn, George (Dorothy) Collins, Bruce (Melissa) Eckman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will Friday, August 3rd from 11:00 AM until the 12:00 PM Funeral Service at Bethany Lutheran Church in Remer, MN. Rev. Dale Degner will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Remer, MN.
